The entire length of the Midlands Meander is full of things to do! From our property you can access the Mooi River and our neighbour has canoes available for rent and he is a qualified river guide who can take guests out for a guided tour of the Mooi. Bird watching is also very popular here due to the more than 200 species of birds that can be seen here.
Cultural Sites
The area has an abundance of cultural sites which guests can explore such as the Nelson Mandela capture site, Anglo Boer War Battlefields and Kamberg cave paintings which are located a short drive from our self-catering
Arts & Crafts
For those who love arts and crafts the Midlands Meander is the ideal route to explore. Here you can find everything from leather goods to handmade soaps, cheeses and wine.
Eating Out
There are a number of restaurants within close vicinity of Manwood Lodge, offering food and fare which cater to a wide range of tastes and budgets. There are also some wonderful cafés close by for those coffee lovers.
Horse Riding
There are numerous places in the area where guests can enjoy horse-riding. Thanks to the outstanding scenery, this is the perfect place to see by horseback.
Wildlife Safaris
ESSA (The Wildlife & Environment Society of South Africa) in the Umgeni Valley is a must! Home to giraffe, zebra and a variety of antelope as well as over 270 bird species.
